Bird Dog Brewing will be making beer in Mandan

On December 18th at Main Street Drive Thru Liquor, Dennis Kwandt announced that Bird Dog Brewing was coming to town.

Bird Dog Brewing LLC is going to be in Mandan at 1005 east main St. (Main Street Drive Through Liquor). we have our brew house on the way, fermenters and kegs to follow, but we still have a few hurdles to jump. We have our city license, we are working on the state and then Federal, with other hurdles mixed in like construction. The earliest possible to serve would be March. Bird Dog will be serving 4 Taps at first, we have a 3.5 bbl system and can expand to 7bbl fairly easy. We will be serving at Main street and once all the bugs are ironed out we will ramp up and distribute from there as well. I saw it as a win win to partner with them, I can stick to brewing and they can serve, plus you can get other great craft beers there(they are ramping up to 20 taps other than Bird Dogs) plus full wine and liquor service. If you are interested in looking us up we have a web site that is under construction and will eventually have face book as well. You can find us at

About Dean

I drank my share of pale lagers back in college in the 80's but I always wanted to try more, often drinking the 'dark' versions of beer as that was the only interesting thing on tap. I got into homebrewing in the early 90's meeting a lot of great people and then really started learning about beer and how to judge it. Then into the 00's I started branching out with beer and started to deal with beer education and paring beer with food which I did with some restaurants, even beating out wine in a beer vs. wine dinner. I don't try and push beer on people but if they ask questions and really want to listen, I can talk for hours about the subject. Now we come to today, and beer scene in the Fargo / Moorhead area and North Dakota is starting to boom. FMBeer was created with the help of MNBeer.com so people in the F/M area have a single place where they can find out more about good beer, from a calendar of events to lists of local breweries and bars. FMBeer is also a place to learn more about craft beer for those just branching out and a resource to come back to.
