Barley from the Red River Valley has been used to make beer since frontier days. Now farmers in the region supply local craft brewers and craft breweries around the nation, as well as some of the largest brewers in the world.
Author Alicia Underlee Nelson will read from her new book, “North Dakota Beer: A Heady History” and discuss the history of growing malting barley in the Red River Valley. A book signing and Q & A session will follow.
