The Prairie Homebrewing Companions homebrew club from the Fargo/Moorhead area present the 17th annual Hoppy Halloween Challenge homebrewing competition.
Hoppy Halloween is the largest homebrewing competition in the Dakotas with up to 600 entries expected. Homebrewers from all over can submit their entries for all BJCP categories of beer, cider and mead for this competition. Registration is now open and entries will be accepted through October 24th.
Hoppy Hallowen includes 2 special categories
Halloween Theme Beer – Any beer with characteristics that would identify it as being made for, and in the spirit of, Halloween.
Fresh Killed Hops Beer – A wet hop beer made with fresh undried hops that displays the character of those hops in the flavor and aroma.
Judging will take place on October 29th, 31st and November 1st. Volunteers are still needed so sign up to help judge or steward.
The Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday November 1st at the Howard Johnson Inn in downtown Fargo with featured speaker Russ Karasch from Black Swan Cooperage.
